The world of sport and sports coverage is a massive part of the media market, but one in which its fans are crying out for an authentic voice and genuine engagement. Sport and Life Training (SALT) is a rare organisation that is doing tremendous work in the mental health and wellbeing space at local sports clubs, led by its charismatic leader, CEO Dave Burt.
Good Talent Media (GTM) was engaged by SALT to help promote its fantastic workshops on mental health challenges, sport and alcohol, sport and gambling, toxic masculinity, and a host of other topics. SALT brings mental health check ups to the people and cohorts you might never expect to open up about their personal struggles. GTM wanted to bring SALT to the attention of sports codes bosses.
GTM has pitched Dave and SALT into a number of publications, including regular coverage in The Age and SEN, as well as ABC Grandstand and The Leader. As good talent himself, next year Dave Burt looks likely to lock in regular spots on Victorian and national radio, which will expose SALTs great work to the broader sports community and its decision makers. GTMs focus next year is to socialise SALT to a national audience.
