Through our strong connections in the Australian disability sector, we began working with Blind Low Vision New Zealand in collaboration with Access Matters Aotearoa. They came to us with the key objective of having an ineffective Accessibility Bill sidelined.
Through extensive and widespread media coverage across the NZHerald, 1NEWS, The AM Show, RNZ and more with this call-to-action, the bill was pushed off the table to be revisited with people with disabilities involved.
