Perceptions of the Islamic community have been shaped significantly by the media in the last few decades, often negatively, overshadowing the strong tradition of care and community engagement engaged in by the Islamic community.
The Islamic Council of Victoria (ICV) is involved in some fantastic social and community programs and regularly engages Good Talent Media (GTM) to familiarise the Australian public with the great work they do.
Of note was the ICV’s inspirational work with the Royal Children’s Hospital, more particularly the ‘Wallaby Ward’ which the ICV funded. The Wallaby Ward is a program that allows sick children to be cared for at home rather than at a hospital. GTM was able to organise an exclusive interview with 7 news around the program, the case study, and ICV.
GTM has also worked with ICV around hot button issues such as the building of mosques amidst protests and how to prepare for negative media attention around their opening. GTM is proud to have worked with ICV.
